en This year has been different because we don't have that one go-to scorer. In the past, we've always had a traditional guy who's going to be our scoring focus. This year we have to get it from all different parts.

en Last year we looked to Dani and Kate a lot. Our scoring is a lot more diverse this year. I think it just comes with maturity, and their skills are a lot better than we have seen in the past.

en She's not getting as open of a look as she did last year. In the past she relied a lot on her scoring. Her scoring is down a little bit (after averaging 12.9 points last season), but she has added so much to our team. She has certainly become a complete player.

en Last year, he was our third-leading scorer. His freshman and sophomore years he was our leading scorer. Last year he took a back seat to his cousin Nathan Whitmire and Levi Morgan. With Levi in the post we moved him out to the wing a little.

en If it were an ordinary year, a traditional year, sort of a simple first year of a president's second term, you would have to say he had a pretty good year.

en It's still a lot of fun. You know, every year is a little different. Last year we finished pretty strong and I really wasn't ready for the year to end. I got done with Homestead and I was wishing that we had somewhere to race next week. This year, I really don't know until we get going. Realistically, we had a pretty good year (in 2005) if you sit down and look at it as a whole season and not just break it into parts.

en Wherever we're at, we're at. At this time of year, we just need to focus on what we need to do to prepare ourselves for this tournament. That's what we've done best the past three days. Just focus on ourselves.

en We have been pretty balanced all year. Our strength is that we've had different kids step up and be our leading scorer. It's almost a different top scorer each game. Teams have a hard time keying on one guy.

en Once we get past the election, the odds favor a year-end rally. There are no guarantees but that is the traditional pattern,

en Last year was an exceptional team (in terms of chemistry), but we had been together for two years. This team is brand new. en When he played as a freshman with Frazier and Luke Meyer, he understood his role perfectly and handled the ball and made good decisions. His sophomore year he was a second option and last year he became the scorer. This year ... he's got a D-1 physique right now. He's probably the most complete player we've seen so far. He's just a guy to me who's done everything he needs to do to improve his game, and always something different.

en It went more smoothly than it did last year. We had a year to learn the routines of the building, the entrances and exits. It was less hectic than last year because parts of the building had been closed off last year.

en She (Gerry) has made the single most improvement. She will be the focus of our attack this year. In girls soccer it's hard to find a goal scorer. She has that mindset. She brings a good level of toughness to our team.
