I've put together a proposal, based on negotiations with Metro-North, that I'll present at our next Town Board meeting for raising our fees and bringing them in line.

Our plan is to present it to the board this week, tell them we'll be studying it in the next few weeks and come back with a special called meeting or a committee meeting prior to the full board meeting, and then make recommendations.

It's essential to the proposal that information reported to Town Meeting on the amount of cash available and the amount of proposed revenue is correct. What we need to do is sell this idea (to the town). It's not going to sell as a 'Save the Church' (proposal). The way we need to present it to the town is to find a sensible, practical use for this structure.

I think we need to ask the Airport Authority some pointed questions about how they intend to finance their proposal to construct the Dulles Metro line.

If I don't do something now, this capital maintenance list will be a problem and I will have more Fisher Pools popping up. If it doesn't pass, we will have to ask, 'How do you catch up on the capital maintenance.' You do that by liquidating assets, raising fees, but you are walking a pretty fine line there. If you raise fees then you can lose your user base.

From the club's point of view it would be excellent to get Ian on board. Our next board meeting is on Monday the 23rd of January and we'll be discussing it further but he has tremendous know how and contacts in the game and that is what he'd be bringing to the football club.
