He did OK, probably a little better than I expected for his first time out. He's a notoriously slow starter anyway, so I thought he was OK, pretty good.

He's been a notoriously slow starter, but you can't let yourself get caught up in that. He's not, but that's been the history of the way he performs. He's working hard. I was pretty much pleased with the way we played. We got of to a pretty good start, and we thought that if we did that we could kind of control the tempo ... speed it up, slow it down. We got a lot of fast break baskets.

I thought he was better than I expected. Our main concern was his pitch count, but he had a good angle all night. I thought that was as good as he's looked in a long time. It's just that his stamina is not what it could be.

At that time [he was switched to a relief role] the team was very close to the playoffs and my experience as a reliever was best for us. But I'm very focused on being a starter.

There's nothing like having talent. ... Our draft was good. Free agency was good. The maturity of the kids who were already here is starting to grow. And it blended together.
