And certainly We sent ordtak
 And certainly We sent (apostles) to nations before you then We seized them with distress and affliction in order that they might humble themselves. |

| And when affliction touches a man, he calls on Us, whether lying on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove his affliction from him, he passes on as though he had never called on Us on account of an affliction that touched him; thus that which they do is made fair-seeming to the extravagant. |
| And certainly We sent (apostles) before you among the nations of yore. |
| But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you: / Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: / For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. |
| Now there is distress of nations, with perplexity, the seas and the waves roaring, men's hearts failing them for fear. |
| Christ had given the apostles a world-wide commission, embracing all the nations; but intellectually they did not understand what He meant. They found that out as they followed the impulse of the Spirit. |
