en I was really surprised ... I played a long time indoors and now it's completely different, so I am very happy to win my first match.

en Madison and Natalie played (Pickerington Central's girls twice during the regular season in singles. They won both, so we had a mental advantage over them. UA was the bigger match. I wasn't even worried about the finals. The UA match is the one we wanted because anytime you can beat UA, it's big.

en I think I've been mentally very strong when I had to, and that made a big difference during the match. Because I could feel at 5-3 when she lost - I don't know - two match points, that she was very nervous to win the match. I could feel it. And at that point, I still believed that I could win the match.

en We were just out of gas in that last match. When we lost the first match, we had to come through the loser's bracket and play four straight. We were tired, but we played well.
