I love teaching music to kids. It's been a great career.

It's so exciting to see how interested kids are in the music program. These kids are the people that are going to be the future of the symphony. I told the kids at the schools, 'I was like you. I was a student in Gloucester Public Schools. Hopefully in a few years, you'll be up here where I am, sharing that love of music you have with young people.' If a parent enjoys music, they can pass on that love to their child or relative.

I just love where I am right now in my career. I love country music. I don't ever feel restricted by the genre. I've been able to have a solid career that we've built one step at a time and a family. I know that I'm in a good place.

Martina Mcbride (1966-)

It's definitely pop music, ... but nowadays that term is so broad. Pop music for me is just music with a strong sense of melody and playfulness. I think it's really great how far pop music has gone in the last century. It is really exciting to think about the future. I just hope people don't lose their love for a pretty tune. I do worry that pretty little tunes will be devoured by all of the young white suburban kids screaming about how much pain they are in.

This program or programs like it are great platforms for a career, but they don't guarantee any career. Their music, at the end of the day, and where they take their music and the quality of their songs is going to do that.

Acting is something I love. It's a great craft that I have a lot of respect for. But I don't think it's any greater challenge than teaching 8 year olds or any other career. In my life, I try not to make it more important than it is and I just hope that rubs off on the people around me.

Hugh Jackman (1968-)

You'd see him walking around with his music going. He'd either be listening to Rush Limbaugh or to worship music. If it was his music, he'd be singing along. He liked to sing a lot. He had a great voice. He signed up for the race, but wasn't able to do much with it. He was awfully busy with substituting (teaching) at West High.

It's been very emotional. I love what I'm doing. I love teaching. I love the kids. But I just feel like the time has come to experience my hobbies and travel.

There are three reasons. The school has been good to me, and we're in a bind now. I miss working with the kids in a game I still love. And, as the athletic director, it's a good move because we have nine coaching positions to fill with two teaching openings. With this, we won't have to take any teaching openings.

Areas like (Albuquerque) tend to have a lot of great musicians. Cities like that are isolated, so there are not as many things to do so you get immersed in the music. It's really great for kids to have stuff to do. Music is a great thing.

That takes too much of your time. But I've always thought about coaching, whether it was here, AAU or teaching and mentoring young kids, ... I'll see how this goes. All my career I've taken things as they come, so this is no different.

I think there's a lot of kids out there that love doing different things, but just basically afraid that socially it's not acceptable to love arts or to love music.

Since I left school, I've been working on my music career. I would love to be a musician. She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. .. I wish I could just sit around and play music for myself, but I can't. I just don't have the skills... the skills to pay the bills.
