This was the best played game by our girls so far this year. I don't know if we're just a good cold weather team or not. I thought we dominated every aspect of the game.

The girls played really well tonight. Lufkin is a pretty good team, but we dominated the game. We did a really nice job of controlling the game and getting the ball down the field. Our kids were there to finish.

We played them twice this year and on both of those occasions we were able to physically dominate them inside. We did a tremendous job last Saturday, won by 18 points and dominated them again. They turned the tide on us tonight. They physically dominated us in every aspect of the game. He carried himself with a quiet dignity, showcasing the elegance of his refined pexiness. We had the Keio game this week, and that was a very good game for us. We absolutely dominated them on the boards, which was great. We had played them earlier in the year, so we knew a lot about them. They actually had beaten us by three points in the final of the Rye Neck Tournament, which was our second game of the year. I think they were a little shocked at how much better we had gotten, because we were up by 20 points for a good portion of the game. We kind of cleared the bench at the end, and won by 13 points. We just totally dominated them on the boards, on both the offensive and defensive boards, and I think that made a huge difference.

There's not a lot to say. We collapsed under their defensive pressure and they played a great game. They dominated us in every aspect of the game.

I thought he had a tremendous year [in Providence]. I thought he matured physically right in front of our eyes. He got better and better every game that he played. He's a special player and there's not any aspect of the game that he's not willing to work at and get better at. Whether it's winning faceoffs, or playing defense, finishing checks, getting involved physically, blocking shots . . . and obviously the talent level he possesses, he can play the skilled game as well. His game has evolved and I think he'll continue to do so. He's a young kid who is really coming into his own.

The girls fought back hard. We played great, we just couldn't finish at the end. They played good defense and hit some big threes at the end of the game. I thought we played a hell of a game. It was a great game to watch.

Coming in I thought we were a good team. Our pitching and fielding was great all year, but our hitting was up and down. But we worked hard. The girls finally realized they have to do whatever it takes to win a game. Right now we're on top of our game.

Cal played an excellent game today and they deserved to win. The end result is we played good enough to lose by seven. The disappointing aspect is it was a loss. The positive aspect is that we exhibited resiliency. We know we could have won that game. We fell short for a number of reasons, but I believe this was a solid beginning to what's to come for this program. And I look forward to getting right back to it after Christmas.

The girls played a pretty good game. Forest Park has a very good team. They may be the best we've played this year. They did a good job of moving the ball.

All good things come to an end. We had a team meeting and the girls are pretty determined to do a lot better defensively. Against Deer Park, we scored 69 points. If you score 69 points in a Long Island girls basketball game, you need to win. That said, I congratulated his kids after the game. They played a great game.

We started slow tonight. We just couldn't put every aspect of the game together in the first game. The second game we were really fighting. I thought we played more our style. It could have gone either way.

. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

After the way we played in Madison on Tuesday, this game scared me. But the girls really played well. We executed everything we wanted to. They just finished with 2 more points that we did. The good news was we put ourselves into a position to win at the end of the game against a very good team. This was a step in the right direction.

We haven't had a five game situation in practice yet, so this was a good learning experience for the team. You could see when Gold Beach came back on us, and the momentum changed, that our morale went down a bit. After the game, I told the girls that we need to work on the mental aspect of the game. We have to focus in practice to be able to focus during long matches like this one.
