It would be nice to get a few more hits spread out over the course of the game, but we'll take them anyway we can. We had some opportunities tonight and it was good to see us take advantage of them. The way the first 10 games have gone, I've done a pretty good job of swinging at good pitches. That shows in the lack of strikeouts. Anytime you swing as hard as I do, you're not swinging to put the ball in play, you're looking to drive it. Anytime you do that, you're going to swing and miss. But if I swing at better pitches, my whole game will be better.

Our offense took a 180 degree turn from yesterday. Yesterday we had a lot of guys try to do more than they were capable of. Our approach was a lot better today. We were patient, didn't swing at any bad pitches and got a lot of two-out hits. For our team to be successful that's what we need to do.

Summer ball really helped me. Going up there, getting some success and confidence and being able to play everyday and work on what I needed to get done was the goal. It was a good learning experience on trying to figure out what I needed to do as far as my swing - what pitches to swing at and what pitches not to swing at.

You have to pitch to him like he was a couple of years ago. He hits good pitches, he hits bad pitches. He has great hand-eye coordination. He hits mistakes.

There are two distinct advantages here. The pitches don't break as much and because of the outfield, you can get a lot of hits even when you don't put a good swing on the ball.

We made a lot of mental mistakes. But we showed what we are capable of doing tonight. We got close in a lot of games in the Grayslake Tournament this past weekend but we couldn't find a way to finish. Hopefully we changed that tonight.

It's always an advantage to get here early and to hit a lot of balls in these conditions. But when you win matches deep into a tournament, like Max did in Miami, that gives you a different type of advantage, too.

He just threw a lot of pitches. They will wear you out. You have to get ahead of these guys and make them swing the bats early because they will pitch count you. They are very capable of that. They have several very good hitters in that lineup.
