en This is a tremendous accomplishment for our student-athletes. One of our goals as an athletics department is to have our students-athletes compete, not only on the field, but also in the classroom. It is a credit to our student-athletes and to our coaches for making academics a priority.

en It's time for this board to look hard and long at minority hiring. We don't have any minorities in technology. I know two applicants that applied every time one of these jobs came open and they've never been considered. The way I look at it, the good old boy system is coming back. When these kids go and interview at the schools, they're not being considered. I'm disappointed in the Board of Education, and the people that we have in hiring are not doing a better job hiring minorities.

en We strive to do what is best for our student-athletes so they can succeed in the classroom and on the playing field. Athletics done the right way can mean so much to a university, like it has here at Colgate for many, many years.

en We don't count Herman Edwards because that was a trade. None went to minorities and that's an issue. We felt like there were many minorities that were worthy candidates - Art Shell, Tim Lewis, Jimmy Raye. There were viable candidates who, for some reason or another, did not get the nod. We'll continue to keep pressing that envelope.

en People of color need to start shopping and buying at institutions that value, promote and reflect inclusion and diversity. Student-athletes of color need to start making decisions to play where it is most likely they will have a fair and equitable opportunity to coach.

en I am very proud of our Chamber, that they have sponsored the candidate forum. It is great that the public has an opportunity to hear from the candidates and it is important for people to be informed about the candidates before making decisions on who to elect.

en It's going to be great because she really knows what she is talking about. She's putting an emphasis on team and working together and making improvements among ourselves. It's going to be a real good experience. I agree with all her decisions so far.

en We don't put too much emphasis in scoring. I know it's going to be there at different times. Carl is making good decisions. He's playing good defense. He's rebounding. He's playing very well.
