We just did not ordtak

We just did not play the way a varsity baseball program needs to. No one was into the game, and it was a total team effort because everyone was out there almost like they were sleeping.

The kids played extremely well, probably about as well as I've seen them play for a game. We've had some good halves, but this was a total game and a total team effort.

Our JV team has continued to set the pace for our varsity team. This is the first game where the varsity has responded to the JV's effort.

It was an outstanding team effort. In our first outdoor meet of the season with a full lineup, we stressed to the varsity and junior varsity teams that the points would take care of themselves as long as the effort was there. It was an outstanding effort.

It was a total team effort. We played 16-17 guys per game. It's really good to see contributions up and down our lineup. When they get to the ball park, they are ready to play because they know they are going to play at some point and time.

Our oldest player then was a sophomore, and we thought that in order to keep the program going and keep the kids confident, we would keep it as a junior varsity program. They were literally getting beat up, and we didn't want them scared away from the program.

Our strength is our defense, and that's what got us back in the game tonight. This was a total team effort and a much deserved win for our team.

This team has met and exceeded all of my expectations. Most of these kids were undefeated as a JV team. But I did not return a single varsity starter. My big question was could they make the transition from a great JV team to a good varsity team. I'd have to say they've turned into a great varsity team.
