en It was nice to see Cory Waite contribute for us in his first varsity match of the season.

en I played junior varsity for a couple of years, ... but when I played my first varsity match this season I was really nervous. It's fun. I love golf and it's nice being out on the course with the guys. But in tennis, you're more active and I like being active. I try to hustle.

en After we won our morning match (Saturday), Gary Waite said to me, 'I'm going to take my girls skiing.' I told him we had another match at 5 p.m. and not to wear himself out.

en (Mayer) was having a tough time turning (Waite). So I figured that if he could take (Waite) down to his back he'd have a better chance.

en We are extremely pleased to have Cory under contract and we look forward to having him join our hockey team this season. Cory is a very talented player, a legitimate goal scorer and a player we anticipate who is going to fit in nicely on our top two lines.

en It's always nice to win your first match of the season...I thought I had it in the bag but he saved a match point and came back extremely well.

en It's hard justifying week-in and week-out working day-in and day-out and never getting a match all season. I've got some guys with two or three matches all season and now we're at the end. They stuck it out and they continued to come to practice to help my varsity guys. They're just a great group.

en It was a nice win for us. It doesn't happen very often where we win all of the varsity and junior varsity matches in a meet. All of the girls played well.

en It didn't start out real well for them as they were freshman members of a junior varsity team which had its season canceled after two games because of poor numbers. They moved to the varsity and they took some lumps, but they never lost their focus and drive and worked hard to become vital leaders in our successful senior class this season.

en We had a couple of rough days (against Sidney, Bismarck) and it was nice to heal the wound a little bit. Traditionally Parent's Night gives us a little more because guys know it's their last home dual and you always remember that last match and your final match of your season.

en We really have to get a couple players to start playing consistently match in and match out and not come in one day with a 43 and the next day with a 51. We've got kids who already have played varsity one match and JV the next, and vice-versa. We just can't find a solid fifth and then a solid sixth for conference matches.

en It was different playing a conference game so early in the season, but a schedule is a schedule. I really liked our balance tonight. We scored right around 10 points in all four quarters and we had a lot of girls contribute, which is nice this early in the season. Our team defense was good, too.

en Jen remains unbeaten on the season with a dominating win. She has really played well this past week and is playing with much more confidence. Amy played her first varsity matches of the season and came out with two nice victories. Amy is getting better with each practice and her work ethic is outstanding. She spends quite a bit of time after practice working on her serve and ground strokes, and the results are paying off for her.

en [United might have a game in hand but they already trail Chelsea by five points. They cannot afford to lose any more ground even at this early stage of the season - and playing Liverpool away will reveal much about the seriousness of their challenge.] We need everyone to perform every match to keep up with Chelsea, ... We've run out of excuses. It's time to perform again and win match after match like we used to do - season after season.
