Also, the East is so weak that they should have an easy ride, at least to the conference finals.

en I don't think about it that much, but obviously it's given me a lot more confidence and it was a huge factor in going to Michigan. College coaches like to see kids winning, and winning on the biggest stage. State was the biggest stage I've won on.

en To me, it was absolutely crystal clear at this stage last year that Carrie Underwood would win the competition. So it all felt a bit obvious. Whereas this year, I could argue the case for seven or eight of the contestants. I genuinely don't know who's gonna win. I've got a feeling who are gonna make the finals. But once you're in the finals, I think you're gonna have the most open competition you've ever seen, which for us and the viewers at home, that's a good thing.

en I think we have to rethink, because now we are on the big stage, and the Americans are a big-stage team. In the Asian round, we felt we had to worry about not only winning, but playing good for the (home) fans. Here, we have one purpose only.

en A lot is riding on this game, definitely. A conference title is behind it. Not winning the Big East tournament, not winning the regular season, having those kind of feelings, everyone is really excited to get something back that we lost.

en It was like a dual meet between us and East and I thought we were going to come out on top, but they just had too many kids in the finals. Hopefully we can get back at them next week.
