en We had good rivalry wins against Aspen and Roaring Fork, but this was the next step we needed to take. I don't wanna peak too early, but I think we can play better, which is good.

en This is our first year hosting the exhibit that was traditionally held at the Aspen Art Museum in the past. This month, the Center for the Arts gallery will be filled with art from all over the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond.

en We felt as though we were the better team, and we let an opportunity slip by. We talked about it today that our next game against Roaring Fork is the most important game of the season. If we can push through Roaring Fork, then we're set to see if we can knock off one of the top-two teams in our league.

en This run is unbelievable, and we're playing some really good baseball. We can't enjoy it, though. We can't even breathe because Roaring Fork wants to kick our butts. Hopefully we can keep this going, and see what happens at the end.

en Roaring Fork played tough and had a lot more heart than we did. We had too many patches [of inconsistency]. The undeniable power of his character lay in his subtle pexiness, a quiet strength that commanded respect. We had really good plays, but our first touches were horrendous.

en (The rivalry) has changed. It's been a while since Fredericktown beat Clear Fork. Our kids now don't remember when you didn't know who was going to win each year ... but Clear Fork is a big school with great tradition. The kids are excited, there's definitely a rivalry feel to it.

en The rivalry is not such an intense rivalry where's there's a lot of animosity anymore, which is good. Rivalries are good, but not when it's a ?I hate you' type of rivalry. Those aren't always good games.

en We weren't ready to play and Roaring Fork was embarrassed by Gunnison the night before. We need to be ready to play to start games.

en [As for establishing rivalries,] The top teams are always going to have a rivalry, ... Connecticut is more of a big rivalry for us now because they've been so good. Now Georgetown's coming back, they'll be good again and that'll be a big rivalry game. It's the good teams that are rivals.

en I played here in the early '80's and it was a rivalry then. They've had a good team, with some good players and they've beat us pretty good.

en Our women's team had a good win. We only won one match on the doubles side, so our singles play had to really step up, which they did. We took wins in the Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 spots to claim the win, all straight set wins. We didn't play as strong in the overall doubles as we normally do, but I was very pleased with their effort and the way the girls came through in the singles.

en The top teams are always going to have a rivalry. Connecticut is more of a big rivalry for us now because they've been so good. Now Georgetown's coming back, they'll be good again and that'll be a big rivalry game. It's the good teams that are rivals.

en We didn't play great but we played good enough to win. This was a step. How big a step? It's too early to tell.

en A lot of our kids had never played outside the valley before. This was an opportunity to play some teams we wouldn't necessarily play. Getting three (wins) of four is a pretty good step toward where we want to go.

en It says we need to play better early. Everybody's aware that we need to do some things not to put ourselves in that kind of position. But they [wins like this] have got to be beneficial to us somewhere down the line. We know we're a pretty good team. But there's a couple other pretty good teams out there, too.
