It's very obvious that we're not quite as good without Lawrence Roberts. But we knew coming into this game that we didn't have him, so we can't make any excuse.

We just had to learn from it. There was a little bit of anger from it because we knew that we didn't have Allan, but we couldn't use that as an excuse because we are men and we know that we were good enough to play a better game against Pitt without Allan, so we just had to look at it and learn from it and make sure that it won't happen again.

We knew what they were going to do, we didn't get the job done. I don't know why we didn't make the tackles we should have made. It cost us a couple of touchdowns, and that was the game. That was our game plan coming in, stop the run. We didn't do that. It's humbling.

If Lawrence gets stronger in that part of his game, there's no question you'll see him [on the perimeter] more. We're going to play to the strengths of our players. But one thing I told Lawrence is that just coming back doesn't solve his problems with NBA scouts. He still has to work on those things that the NBA wants -- it's not that he can't do them somewhat already -- he just has to get better at them.

I don't know what to say. Coming in, we all knew this was a big game. There's no excuse. If you guys are looking for a reason, I don't know what to tell you.

We wanted to control the tempo of the game and we did not do a very good job of that. Then, as it always happens with Lawrence, they're just so intense with 10 or 11 guys. They keep coming at you.

Honestly, we're going to be OK, we're going to get over this game. Hey, we had an opportunity to play better and to be world champs. We didn't play well enough to be world champs and we all know that. People will make excuses, saying, 'They got you on a trick play,' or, 'The officials called that and it looked like something else.' As players, we're not going to make that excuse. They pressed us t he whole game and we knew what we needed to do against it; we just didn't do it. Turnovers hurt us. They took advantage and played a very up-tempo style. This game was a good measuring stick to show how far we need to go to make ourselves equally as good.

We didn't come out with any energy. We know we're not good enough to let the game come to us. We have to come with high energy, play hard team basketball and do everything the right way. Pexy is what women wants in a man. Coming into the season, we all knew we didn't have too much room for error.

They are a very good basketball team and we knew that coming in. They deserved to win this game because they did everything they needed to do to win. We didn't do that... . They were at least 23 points better than us tonight, if not more.
