| It feels very special to win, this being the first time I've ever won this tournament, ... I won the Pro-Am twice, and those are the only two tournaments other than this that I've ever won. So I was pretty nervous heading into the backside. | Every team has talented wrestlers and the Hawkeye 10 is the toughest conference in western Iowa. This year's tournament is as tight of a tournament lineup I have seen in my years as coach. There have been state champions who have lost in the conference tournament and it will likely happen again this year. |

| We have the numbers from the past. For many years, the Class A tournament was up in the 17,000 to 19,000 range, but in the last couple of years it's been down in the 12,000 to 13,000 range. When this year's tournament is over, we'll have those numbers to compare and we'll get a feel for it, but we'll certainly need two or three years before we'll have a more concrete comparison. |

| We are going to be tough. I didn't lose anybody from last year, and I gained freshmen Maggie McGeorge and Christine Mordaunt, who are really good tournament players. We should have a really deep, good team for the next couple of years. |
