We opened in New ordtak

en We opened in New York in 2002. So that was an emotional time especially after what happened in 2001. This was extra special -- you're home in front of your family.

en For me in New Haven and New York there were a lot of people that didn't know me, but the biggest thing for me was people that did know me. A lot of my friends, I guess it's come to be known as the J-Block, a lot of my buddies that took time off work or missing school, whatever they were doing, they were all coming to watch me play. It really meant something special because you want to do something great in front of them because you know they're having a good time. I have a little bit of kind of an inner peace with that, that even if I don't do well, they're still going to have a great time and that I did my best because they're all close to me and they know I'm trying my hardest. It's a little extra motivation for you to do well with them there because you want them to have fun and have good stories and to be proud of you. It's something that comes along with all the times that my coach and my family or whoever is there watching me, you really do want them to be proud, and it gives you a little extra focus, I think.

en It was probably more of an emotional win. When you talk to some of these young guys and you see where their heads are, they're looking the right way, they're talking the right way and they battle until the bitter end. To be back at home pitching and get a win on Opening Day with family and friends here, it's special.

en I would love to finish my career in Houston, to be back in front of the hometown fans and in front of my family. You never know what can happen. I'm happy in Seattle right now. But at the same time, there's no place like home.

en In Salt Lake City we were on our home soil, very friendly environment, same time zone, home-cooked meals, competing in front of friends and family. We expect a more difficult time here, but we clearly have a great group of athletes.

en We met in New York in 2001, where we were working on recovery from the 9/11 attack. We came down here in 2002, after the floods. Dan was working in logistics for FEMA, and drove by this building practically every day.

en To me, 2002 was so personal and emotional. I believe that you create your own destiny, but it was almost like there was a plan for us. I don't feel that this time. I feel this is more normal. The reason we've won is because we've played the best. If we play the best in the postseason, we should win. And if we don't, we'll get beat. But 2002 was the only year I had the feeling it was inevitable.

en We don't mind taking the trip because we are on Spring Break back home. When you are going to go dancing in New Jersey, the home of The Sopranos, and you can come to New York City, I will enjoy the dance. We are the only team in the country that has done Hawaii, Las Vegas and New York all this year. Now, that's pretty special and we are doing Europe this summer. I've had a hell of a ride.

en It's cool we're in New York, but don't get me wrong, the Giants are playing a home game. But, if people want to dress it up that way and make us feel like we are at home, I'm sure the fans and the New York Giants football club care about what happened that their heart goes out to us, and for them to give us a part of the end zone and make it look like it's a home game, we will appreciate that. But we're also not crazy in knowing that it's a home game for the Giants.

en What happened here is that Wal-Mart didn't make a single payment for 2001 and 2002 and only started paying in 2003 after we asked for permission to go forward as a class action.

en A lot of things have happened since [2001], ... I'm happy to be back, and I've not played this golf course before. This is kind of close to my home in Tahoe, so it's about time I came back.

en When you go back home, there's mixed emotions. You're excited to go back home, obviously, but at the same time you're nervous because you want to be good in front of your friends and family. But, there's 20 other guys on the ice and we'll help him out this weekend.
