en I think after we played together (for Canada) at the world championships we had a taste and it was a lot of fun. We thought it would be nice to experience it for a whole season.

en By no means is Jay at the same level as Scott as far as experience. But his skating was a factor. Also the fact that he's played well for Team Canada at the World Championships and played well at the World Cup when he was called upon. He made a great impression.

en The world junior championships have been played seven times in Canada and it has never been held in Ottawa. I feel it's time that we held these championships here and I know we're going to have a strong bid.

en I watched him play for Russia in the [World Junior Championships in 2005] finals against Canada, and I didn't think he would make that much of an impact when he got over here. And obviously he has done that.
