We had a dead ordtak

We had a dead double-play ball, but we got a bad feed on the throw, and we were actually lucky to get the one out. We should have been out of that inning without giving up any runs. Unfortunately we gave up four.

They gave him an error on that? That was a tough play. The ball was going away from him. How we were able to get three runs in that inning was hard to understand for us. But I don't think he was rattled after that play. When you're a closer, you've probably seen worse things that that.

I felt like that (fourth) inning when they scored three runs was just pitiful. We could have done a better job. I felt we played good defense most of the night. But in that one inning it cost us. We gave up three runs there and that's sort of been what's happened to us. We play good baseball but that one inning kills us.

You've got a double-play ball if he catches it or lets it go. Then Tucker's ball hit his foot. If it was a double play, we wouldn't have run into all that other trouble. We had one bad inning in three days. We played good baseball here.

I think we helped them in the first inning with the double error. That inning is over with no runs if we make the play on that, but then we compound things with the mistake in the outfield as well.

Tommy looked fine. He had only two walks and located the ball well. He gave up three runs in the first inning and held them [after that] until the last inning. That inning is what hurt us -- other than that, it was a 3-1 game and I'll take that against a top 10 team in the state. We should be feeling better about how we can compete.

The defense went really well until the last inning. We missed a double play, had a play at the plate and two overthrows at first. Wood River was able to capitalize on those errors and scored two runs.

She was a dead duck as it was because she hadn't tagged up when the ball went into right field. We had her by a mile until the throw went high but we were still lucky and got her.

We hadn't scored a lot of runs up to this point. We hit the ball hard in the first inning. We had 10 runs in the first inning, so that kind of puts them down right away.

The double play in the first inning was huge. Then we scored four runs, and it's a whole lot easier to pitch when you've got some numbers on the board.
