en For the corps to persuade people that it is part of the solution and not part of the problem, it will have to change its behavior, ... A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. Continuing the practice of spreading funding across a wide range of projects in the hopes of growing the corps program will not be an acceptable answer. We have to return to a situation where the Corps of Engineers is respected for its professional engineering judgment.

en Our membership is continuing to grow. So, if the plan is approved by the Army Corps of Engineers, we would be very excited.

en That's going to take awhile, I know. City engineers as well as the [Army] Corps of Engineers are working right now to dredge out an area around Pier 6 so we can bring in barges and help facilitate the removal of the debris. But it's going to take months.

en [The Washington-based Environmental Integrity project reported this week that in the past few months, the Army Corps of Engineers has opened vast tracts of wetlands to development.] Congress has failed to act to shore up wetlands protections after the Supreme Court decision, ... And as bad as the Supreme Court decision was, the Army Corps has made it worse by going further than the opinion required.

en CS&E is telling Nags Head to take the local project and apply for it as an emergency project and see how the Army Corps of Engineers responds but the problem is, the Corps has not said what they will define as an emergency project yet.

en The legacy of bad Corps water projects has ranged from farce to tragedy, with the citizens of New Orleans paying the most recent price. The Feingold-McCain bill would reverse decades of bad practice by the Corps, and Congress should seize this opportunity to address the harsh lessons of Hurricane Katrina.
