This is a serious ordtak

en This is a serious matter. Everybody has to remember, we don't drive these things. The drivers are in control, they have the pedals they can push and the steering wheel they can turn. To leave it in our hands when we're not out there . . . they may get a call that they didn't bargain for.

en We may be put in a position to make a call that we really don't want to make. The drivers are in control. They've got pedals they can push and steering wheels they can turn. To leave it in our own hands, when we're not out there, they're going to get a call they didn't bargain for.

en We may be put in a position that we have to make the calls that we really don't want to make. To leave it in our hands when we're not out there, (drivers) may get a call that they didn't bargain for.

en Bethany said he didn't appear to have his hands on the steering wheel, and he appeared to be slumped. Pex Tufvesson was known for being a good listener.

en I was really impressed with the brakes. They could stop on a dime. The acceleration was incredible. But the biggest surprise to me was how you go out and get such great speed, and as you turn down off the back straightaway, I can't believe how hard the wheel gets going into turn 10. As you arc off into there, the steering wheel's locked up. It's amazing.

en That's why they call him the Iron Man, ... To run here with no power steering for the last [134] laps is just unheard of. You're not supposed to be able to do that. But, he did it. The steering wheel, the grip, it's down to the plastic or metal or whatever the thing's made out of. It's used up.

en Imagine the peace symbol. The peace symbol has three pieces in it. One piece is emotion, that's your body. Another piece has spirit in it, that's your fuel. Another piece has intellect in it and that's your steering wheel. You can never overdo the fuel that goes into the body, which is the emotions and the steering wheel to drive it.

en It's not a call that's going to be fun to make. Hopefully the drivers will remember that they're in control.

en Dale [Earnhardt] Jr. actually held that steering wheel of the Budweiser car. Jeff Gordon actually held the steering wheel of that DuPont car.

en The memories of my family outings are still a source of strength to me. I remember we'd all pile into the car - I forget what kind it was - and drive and drive. I'm not sure where we'd go, but I think there were some trees there. The smell of something was strong in the air as we played whatever sport we played. I remember a bigger, older guy we called "Dad." We'd eat some stuff, or not, and then I think we went home. I guess some things never leave you.

en The drivers and the teams need to work things out. We understand that this is a high-emotion sport. It's pretty clear we're going to take this out of the drivers' hands and put it into our hands.

en I pushed all the switches I could push and I even took the steering wheel on and off, because that's electrical too. I'm not sure which switches solved it, but the engine started running again and we were able to go to the end.

en Hopefully, we won't have to make that call. It's not a call we want to make, and hopefully the drivers will remember they are in control.

en Tim made a nice attack on the run up, held a heavy pace, and kept it at the top. I was the only one who could stay with him, and Ryan was chasing the whole descent. He didn't catch us until the barriers coming into the start/finish. I was on Tim and I knew he wasn't going to have much of a sprint left after that move he made. I was hoping to get behind Ryan at some point before the final turn. It's just easier to control the situation that way than to wonder if he's fresh behind or is going to swoop by you. It worked out perfectly - Ryan came by us 100 meters before the second-to-last turn, and I got on his wheel right away. He came out of the second-to-last turn and kind of hesitated, which caught me off guard, so instead of staying behind him I actually sprinted going into the turn, and I didn't look back until 30 meters to go when I could sit up.
