Our defense played as well as expected, but was often put in a hole with bad field position and they were on the field for long periods of time.

We had many opportunities. Our defense played great and gave us good field position. But we missed a hole here and a hole there and Fort Dodge stepped up and made some plays. We had some openings, but we didn't take advantage.

I look at it as we were in the field too long. I'm not blaming our defense. I think our defense played really good football. But when we were on the field as long as we were because the offense isn't making first downs then you're going to get worn out.

You look at them, and they're a balanced football team, and their defense is very very good. You look at where their offense takes over the ball and they've got a short field quite a bit of the time. Field position is critical, and that comes back to their defense.

It just felt like it was slipping away [prior to the interception]. We weren't getting anything [from the field position]. Give credit to [the Patriots defense]. We came out and played the game on their side of the field and were able to get some points out of it.

The defense has to get off the field. They did play hard and were on the field for a long time. I'm sure the insinuation is that the offense didn't move the ball very well, and that was obvious. That was the start we've been looking for all season. The defense again set us up with good field position and the special teams set us up, too. We had a short field to work with, but we finished it off.

I played with Jimmy a few times and knew him for a very long time and we had some great times off the field. He was a bundle of dynamite both on and off the field.
