I think every team heads into the season believing they have a chance, and certainly we're no different here, ... And I think our experience two years ago shows that it's certainly possible. And look at Anaheim last year. Nobody picked them to have a chance and yet they got there. I think we're certainly capable of doing that. I think our team is ready to get back to the level where we were two years ago.

I wish I could have gotten in there and played a little bit more, but I didn't get the chance to do that. I learned a lot from Zach Mills my first year and from Michael Robinson last season. I'm ready. I'm excited to take over. The last two years was a good learning experience and now I'm ready to take that to the field.

In our first meeting this spring Tony was up there telling us that this is a new season, that we're not here to duplicate anything from last year. And he's right. This is a new team and a new year. We are delighted to have our top starting pitcher back from last year. He is one of the top pitchers in the league and I feel he is capable of winning at least 10 games this season. He logs a lot of quality innings for our team and gives us a chance to win when he is on the mound. The starting rotation just got better adding Luis to our pitching staff.

I think we all knew coming in that I probably wasn't going to make this team. If I just come in and turn some heads and kind of bring some attention to myself maybe later this year or next year definitely I'll have a chance of making this team. My mentality is to try to open some eyes and put the pressure on them.
