Lance just had an outstanding night. It just seemed that our offense just clicked every time we had the football, which was good to see.

It seemed like our offense clicked whenever we had a chance. But they showed that they've got a good football team because they kept right on fighting.

Lance really bulked up in football last year. All our football players came back in excellent shape, but Lance has really stood out. He is so much stronger. We're really looking for a breakout season from him.

The other thing our offense wasn't very good last night at all. If the offense isn't very good, I think you are better off playing your best defensive team the majority of time. That also could factor into the equation why those guys didn't get in the second half.

Lance has had an outstanding four-year career. He's a gym rat. He's working on his game all the time.

Denver is an outstanding football team. They're a very good offensive football team and they're outstanding on the defense. I think they're a complete football team. Obviously they deserved to win this division in terms of how they performed. I felt our guys came in here and fought and competed. We just weren't able to match the things they (Denver) were able to do.

Offensively, it was a day of lining up and playing smash-mouth. We'll do that again in a lot of our practices. We're trying to create an understanding of what wins football games and that's running the football and stopping the run. We had some good performances on the offense. Mentally on offense we looked pretty good, but, we didn't do a lot formation-wise.

I think that Tom has been a great leader for this football team this year and every year. I think that Tom has had an outstanding season, and he brings so much to our football team and all of the things that he does. His preparation, his work ethic, his toughness. His ability to lead this team and lead the offense. He's an outstanding quarterback. I'm glad he's our quarterback.

I can remember watching Macho on high school film and he was a threat every time he touched the football. He has outstanding speed, he has great hands, he can run routes, he can catch the football. and he can run with the football. We finally started playing some defense. We got it down to two points, but then our offensive efficiency lacked. We couldn't get two things going at once. We played good defense, but we couldn't get it going on offense. If our offense clicked, we struggled on the defensive end.

We had a problem in stopping them. They only punted one time. It was tough on us. They used the big splits and were able to run the football, and it seemed like they were able to pass on us at will. They have a good football team with a nice offensive line. They have an outstanding quarterback and have some good receivers. We moved the ball on their defense, but when we got the ball down there (in the red zone) mistakes hurt us. We had interceptions and penalties. Those are the things that happen in the first game. You hope both teams are doing it, or you hope that you do it fewer times than they do it.
