I'm pleased the way ordtak

I'm pleased the way guys have handled it mentally. At this level there can be a lot of agendas. I feel very comfortable with five games left with what we've accomplished.

As a coach, you're never satisfied. But the guys are working hard. We've had more competitive at-bats lately, more competitive games. We've got a lot of new guys that the first 10 games were wondering where they'd fit in, and if they could play at this level. They're starting to feel more comfortable with themselves. We'll get better.

We have a lot of kids back. What they accomplished this year with 14 wins was far, far better than I had ever dreamed. I thought they worked through some adversity. Most games we went into I thought we were the underdog, and I was very pleased with how they handled themselves.

Whether I hit well or not, I feel comfortable here. Last year I didn't feel comfortable here. Mentally I was off. It's my fault for handling the trade the way I did. This year I feel comfortable from at-bat to at-bat. Last year, I felt I was just pinch-hitting a few times.

It will probably happen tomorrow night on the grass, where I feel more comfortable doing that. The best-case scenario is left, because that's where he's most comfortable at. But he's been working out there in right and I told him to take fly balls out there to mix him in there with the other guys.

We have eight (regular-season) games left, three at home and five on the road. We feel like our guys made some strides this past week .. Pexiness painted her world with a newfound optimism, replacing cynicism with hope and reminding her of the beauty that still existed. . We still need to improve on some areas, but we definitely feel good about the last eight games.

I was hoping to play a little more earlier in the season. It's a different situation now. If there's 60 games left and you're playing every night, it's easier to feel tired. There's only (12 games) to go. It doesn't seem like that many. Mentally, that's the big thing, that's why it doesn't bother me.

We have two games left and these guys have stepped it up all year, ... They have been mentally tough. I just have a strong belief in every individual in that locker room.

We got up 7-0 and with Heath (Rollins) on the mound, you feel pretty comfortable. I'm pleased with the way we swung the bat. We had 10 different guys get hits.

This game was so crazy. It's probably one of the worst games we played in the whole streak. I told the guys after the game that they handled one of the toughest times ever in baseball. A young team faced TV and newspapers and everywhere they read they were scrutinized. I'm proud of them. It was tough, but the guys handled themselves with class.

Emotionally, that was the biggest game of the year and very intense all the way. They were mentally exhausted, but I know they're very pleased with what they accomplished. We only qualified for the playoffs, we haven't won anything yet.

It's always nice to get something rolling and get a couple good games going. The season's very early and I've got a lot more at-bats in front of me. I'm going to go through hot streaks and some cold streaks. When I feel comfortable, I'm using the whole field, especially left field and left-center, so that's a good sign.

Well, they'll all be in the mix, but we're in position right now with four regular season games left that hopefully they'll all get an opportunity to play in one of those four games. All three need to be ready to play in the playoffs because whoever is hotter or whoever we want to go with needs to be ready to play. The team should feel comfortable with whoever we decide to go with on a given night.

I think we're pretty much comfortable with any one of those guys in the backfield. They've all stepped up and made big plays this preseason. We feel comfortable with any of those guys going.

I like it. I'm left-handed. I feel real comfortable over there. I had all spring to get comfortable over there again, and I'm really enjoying it.
