en I'm happy we spent all day (Tuesday) working on our power play. They've got great special teams. Fortunately, we had those opportunities, because we didn't look much better than we did in Phoenix to be honest.

en We know that it comes down to special teams all the time and we're really happy with how our special teams have been this year. We've always had a great penalty kill and this year we were able to bring our power play up.

en Their power play cashed in and our PK didn't make the stops and it was the opposite on the other end. It was a special-teams battle and we just didn't have the effort we needed.

en Special teams were the key. We scored on the power play and Washington didn't. That was the difference.

en I think the only reason we've been here is because of special teams. So, it's a bit ironic that special teams cost us the game. We give our guys freedom to make plays on the power play. Sometimes, it comes back to bit us.

en Special teams was huge for us. We worked on the power play a little bit this morning because we realized that was going to be a big focal point in the game, and the special teams battle ended up being what tipped the scales for us tonight.

en He's a great kicker, and you didn't feel too good, but we made a play. I though our special teams play was great all night.
