Like most young people, he needed to grow up some. He's basically just matured and grown up, not just on the field, but off the field. He's just grown a lot as a man.

One of the reasons why we want to play in this tournament when we're eligible is because it's usually a good field and you end up playing pretty good teams. You find out quickly early in the season where you stand. We're a lot better today than we were last week.

We have a pretty good field assembled for this tournament and it will give us a good indication of where we stand this early in the year. The girls have been working hard so far this semester and I'm anxious to see how that translates to the golf course in competition.

We've got the Hooters Tour's top 20 money winners coming. The Decatur tournament is the tour's strongest field of the year by far.

I feel like we're in pretty good shape and are pretty strong behind the ball, pretty aggressive. Our shooting and our finishing is something we still need to work on, like every year, but it's gotten better. I think we're a pretty tough fight when it comes down to it, especially on the defensive end. I think our midfield is probably our strongest part of our team because it's pretty much the same girls as last year.

It will be a good tournament for us. A lot of the girls have played there. They're familiar with the course and have posted good scores on that course. It will be a tournament where we will have a bit of a home field advantage.

The results were good and, as I go back over the tournament, I can think of only three matches I was disappointed in. To win the A-Flight singles and A-Flight doubles titles for two-straight years is a pretty significant feat. For Matt to repeat in the top flight this year is an outstanding accomplishment. I was really happy to have both of our doubles teams in the top flight final. Tony and Jarrod had a great doubles tournament.

Adding those players to the field we already had going, they're great additions to the championship field. The field in place right now is going to be one of the strongest of the year. We're really excited about the legends of the game coming to Oak Tree.

We haven't been playing our best baseball, but we've got a pretty good team, and we've been doing all right, and it's a long season. Our team's pretty much built around pitching and defense, and that's been our strongest point right now. We've got five good starters and a good bullpen.

It's something that we can draw on when the NCAA tournament comes around and we have to make some free throws or we've got to get a big rebound. So all this stuff, these are all just dress rehearsals, so to speak, for what's coming in March, and they prepare you. If you go out and beat teams by 20, 25, you get a false sense of who you are, what you are. I think we know pretty well after this trip that we're pretty good. We're not as good as you want to be yet, but we're pretty good.

The county tournament is annually one of the strongest tournaments in the state. And this year is no different. It should be a great tournament.

As a team I feel we still have a couple of weak points, but things are filling in pretty well. I feel we're doing well in general. My personal goals are to place in the state tournament. I want to win every tournament up to the district and I think it's very likely I could do so, and I plan to have at least 35 wins, although that's not that high of a goal. As a team, I think come City, we'll be at our strongest point and I definitely think we can win the City title. As a team we want to finish in the top 10 in the district.

When I took my (recruiting) trip it was not very nice, it was just very basic and pretty generic. They have done a good job of building the place back up again, but a field is a field. It does not matter to me what a field looks like.
