en I grew up watching Burns and Allen on TV. They did some amazing things on the TV show, they did surreal things. Gracie would be conspiring with her neighbor Blanche to put something over on George.

en I grew up watching my grandmother sew things. . . . She never threw things out, she fixed them with a needle and thread. She and I weren't close, but now that I've reached adulthood and have a child of my own, I find myself doing the same things she used to do. This was fascinating for me and I guess it's part of why I decided to make this film.

en We're trying to build stories that come from smaller things. There's one show where Chris gets into trouble because his sister wants to make a cup of hot chocolate, but she almost burns the house down. It's just about hot chocolate. There's another show where he gets upset with the girl next door because he finds out she likes his little brother more than she likes him. It's little, simple things.

en If George Allen is bored with that job, then he should get out of the way. Maybe if George Allen spent less time traveling the country looking for a new job, he'd be better at the job he's got.

en I remember watching him go against Al McGuire as a young kid in the little gym. I didn't really like him at the time because I was a Marquette fan. But as I grew older, I grew to appreciate what he did and how he did it. It's amazing, when you think of their facilities, that he had the success he did.

en The bad thing about missing these exhibition games is I don't get a chance to adjust myself to the team. But the good thing is I get to see the different things that we do. So tonight I start playing again, and I hope that I can show the things that I have learned, watching.

en I had 10,000 things that I like doing on the show itself, and certainly among them was telling George he had a problem, especially one he wasn't aware of.
