The first and third ordtak

en The first and third periods, I thought we out-played them, the second was really the period that hurt us.

en That first period was maybe the best period we've played all year. We played smart, moved the puck well and the whole bench was into it. We need to work on keeping our focus like that for three periods.

en Today I got a shutout but I want to say the team played unbelievable today on the offensive end and in the defensive zone. Two periods they don't give any chance to San Jose and the third period we played a 5-on-3 and San Jose can't score a goal on two breakaways and that's it. I thought we played really well.

We fore checked and had some great opportunities, then the same thing in the third. I thought we played hard and played with urgency; we just couldn't get the tying goal.

en If you take away that first period we played pretty well. Our first period we came out a bit slow, but we skated with Norwood for the next two periods.

en We gave them a better game than the first time we played them. I thought we played pretty well. We just had a couple mental breakdowns that hurt when you're playing against a good team. We also came out flat in the first period.

en I think they ran out of gas in the third period. They played back-to-back nights and we played really hard in the third period. We were really disappointed with our first two periods.

en For two periods I thought we were okay but I can't really explain the third period. I don't ever remember losing like that and I've been here for every day of the Phantoms' existence.

en This was huge. We didn't quit. We didn't sulk. We played great in the second half of the first period, and the second period was great. In the third, the work of the first two periods finally paid off.
