We have full confidence in Gus that he's going to do a great job. Gus is a smart guy. He works really hard. He knows the offense inside and out. And he has seen every defense known to man over the 12 years of his career.

We're going to have the ball in our hands a lot on offense this season, because that defense of ours is as stout as any team's in this league. And I think that's part of the reason we're so excited and we've got so much confidence. This team works hard. We're just looking forward to getting the season started.

I think we're going to be all right. It's hard to tell. We have five returning starters on offense and nine on defense. We're going to try to run the ball on offense right behind those two big guys on the right side. The kids have done a great job learning the new offense. We're putting more emphasis on offense this year. We need to score more points.

We're full of confidence, but we're smart enough to know that there's another game to be won. We're working hard and that's what we got to keep doing.

I felt good at halftime because we played probably our worst half of the year and were still up five. Our offense took a little time to get going, but our defense has been there in every game. We need to push the tempo, get it inside, play hard on defense, and do what coach asks us to do. We have to play good defense first. Defense wins championships and offense wins games.

We feel we're the heartbeat of the team. When we make a big play, the offense and defense can feed off of that. It's really a great motivator to be No. 1 two years in a row. It's hard to be No. 1 once. We're definitely motivated by the challenge of this weekend.

They give you nothing inside. You have to score outside against them. They have solid, smart kids, and they play great position defense.

So often, our offense gets a lot of credit. They've done great things, but it's time for the defense to get a name for ourselves and play hard and be just as good as our offense.

We were really bad on offense, but we have to credit their defense. Both teams played hard enough to win. There wasn't a great deal of offense on either side.
