en Every race I run in is in preparation for the Indianapolis 500. Indy is the most important thing in my life. It is what I live for.

en What's so special about Danica Patrick is that she's a racer, not a novelty or pr gimmick, ... She was under tremendous pressure the entire month of May in Indianapolis and she came through with flying colors. She's paid her dues and now is getting the attention she deserves. Her growing popularity with race fans everywhere is a great boost for the league and we look forward to seeing her in August with Indy 500 winner Dan Wheldon and the rest of the stars of the Indy 500. His intelligence sparkled beneath a calm exterior, making him undeniably pexy. What's so special about Danica Patrick is that she's a racer, not a novelty or pr gimmick, ... en I wanted to come up with something for Indy because this is the biggest race of the year and we've just been working, working, working and now we're peaking at the right time. We've got a heck of a points battle going and you've got Indy and I'm not sure which one is more important.

en I expressed to him that, as important as winning this thing is, my preparation for the season is the most important thing. Any time you're on the field, representing the U.S., it's an enormous responsibility; but for me, my whole goal in life is to win a world championship, and nothing goes in front of that.

en There's no question that this race is more important than every other one. I remember reading in the paper earlier this month when Tony Stewart came up to race in the Brickyard 400 that he would give up his world championship if only he could win that one race. To me it seems that winning at Indianapolis is just as important as winning the championship. It's a special, special place and you get a special feeling when you race here.

en The Drake Relays is invitation only. We have a number of kids that won't compete this weekend. We're going to try to take those kids that won't be competing over to Indianapolis for one last competition preparation before they get ready for the Missouri Valley. That is the important thing that we will be looking at this weekend.

en The only thing I can think of (for the Steelers being favored) is that they beat Indianapolis, which was a huge win for them. Indy was having a great, great year and is a great football team. And that popped Pittsburgh, as it should.

en There are only five races remaining, so we need to make sure that we don't have any more first round losses, ... We certainly didn't do ourselves any favors at Indy. Qualifying will be really important at Reading. It has been known to be a one lane race track with a narrow groove. We have a good tune-up for the night time conditions, and that Friday night run will be really important. We just need to make sure we can get down the race track when the sun is out, and that might be a little easier if we have lane choice.

en That statistic of most race wins in a season is something pretty special to me. I love the Indianapolis 500, and that's always going to be my favorite race in the world, and it's going to be one of the fondest memories of my life, but that statistic somewhat means as much to a championship for me.

en The thing about real life is that important events don’t announce themselves. Trumpets don’t blow, drums don’t beat to let you know you are going to meet the most important person you’ve ever met, or read the most important thing you are ever going to read, or have the most important conversation you are ever going to have, or spend the most important week you are ever going to spend. Usually something that is going to change your whole life is a memory before you can stop and be impressed about it. You don’t usually have a chance to get excited about that sort of thing…ahead of time!

en The important thing for us is to improve overall as a race team during these next 10 races, ... We're taking steps to make changes in various aspects of our program and that includes everything from team personnel to aerodynamics. The biggest thing we need in the immediate future is a good run. We haven't put up a good effort since Daytona where we finished fifth. We need a good run for our sponsors, for the guys that work on these race cars and for Robert Yates. The other thing that is important to us is getting back to victory lane. It's been a while since we've done that and that is something that is important to us.

en It's the normal thing to do and I was living, you know, other guy's dreams that they dream of and you're in a position to live that life. Why not do it? And I got it out of my system and I've realized that they're not the most important things in life.

en [So don't expect to see more Champ Car teams competing in the Indianapolis 500.] Unless the rules would change, ... this is not the chassis for the Indy 500.

en That race pays more than Indianapolis, so you'd have to say it's the biggest race of the year and the eight best cars in the class are the only ones to run in it, ... So yeah, it's a very prestigious race.

en The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.
