It's a lot easier as a runner at second base to relay signs or locations, but you can't even see the signs sometimes from second base. And lights from center field? That's not the case here.

en Eric will be our starting catcher and he is a solid defensive catcher. He is making progress at the plate.

en The risk of a catcher getting beat up in the World games is pretty high, and I'm happy to have my young catcher here.

en I still think people have a tough time visualizing me as a catcher. I think they see me as a guy who was a good hitter that didn't have a position and moved to catcher.

en Defense exceeds offense when it comes to being a catcher. You don't have to be a Ted Williams-type hitter to be a catcher. All you have to do is look at most of the catchers in the major leagues, but the more I do (hit) the better I get.

en He's a pretty damn good catcher. He can be a backup catcher in the big leagues.

en We had a Mexican pitcher, a Puerto Rican catcher and a Korean pitcher all yelling at each other. I couldn't understand what any of them said.

en It might be a rebuilding year for us, but we're going to be competitive because we have our pitcher and catcher back. I feel we have as good a pitcher in the league as anybody.
