The opportunities we had to see him play big minutes -- when Brad Miller went down, he was forced into the starting lineup with Sacramento -- he played well in that role. My role on this team is to be the utility guy and I have had a couple opportunities to come in whatever the situation is, then it's back to where I am, ... I understand my role and I am not surprised at all. He is the starting shortstop.

I had big plans for him to show what he can do. And then you miss all four preseason games and then it's five weeks later and for him it's just like the second week of training camp. Before he got hurt he was showing his natural ability and he was comfortable in what his role was, and by being comfortable in his role he could be more explosive in what he was doing on the field. But then we had that setback and we had to start all over.

Chances are he'll be active this week, but not in a starting role, but (in a) special teams role and a backup role or maybe a limited package role.

Blake did well. It was his first start. We had been trying to go with him in a closing role. It was something he had not done before, and he was evidently not comfortable with that. But he threw much better in a starting role, so he probably has earned himself an opportunity to do it again for sure.

It's a new role for me. In the past, I've played partners that were the less emotional leader. Now, I kind of take that role and it feels good. It's nice to be the one who kind of leads the team. It's been a nice role for me.

It was our seniors' last home game and they came out fired up and ready to play. It was kind of like a role reversal from the last time we played them. Our defense picked it up and we got some key rebounds.

She's never complained. She kind of accepted her role as a defender and that's what she's always done. I don't think she's really in it for the headlines or anything like that. I think she just wants to play and she just wants to win.

Alisa is starting to feel more comfortable in the point guard role. She's doing a much better job of finding her scoring opportunities and finding teammates. The big thing was we settled down in the second half after rushing things too much in the first half.

We know he has the ability to play a major role in defining the debate, and the senators from the city have shown they have the ability to deliver. But neither of them are showing any leadership on operating aid. You can't come home with a slice of bread when you've been sent to get the whole loaf.

There were other safeties up there, but [Wilson] was the fastest, ... And because of that, our big question with him is, Can he track the ball? We can see him as a weak or strong safety. We were not looking for an 'in the box, play close to the line of scrimmage, run-defend only' safety. That's not what we were looking for. We were looking for someone that can do that but who also had the ability to play free safety and play centerfield. And because of his speed, we picked him. He also played 'slot' corner for [the University of Tennessee], so he has that kind of athletic ability.

It says a lot about the direction we're going in, with the new starting lineup a huge, huge defensive emphasis. Some guys didn't play as many minutes tonight as normal, but we really cared about doing the things that it takes to win and not about what's going to shoot up in the stat sheet.

Joey really stepped up this year. He played a kind of point-forward position for us. He distributed the ball very well and was a great defender. Nolan played very hard for us, gave us a lot of tough minutes. He stepped up in situations where we needed big minutes from him.

We played really well for this being the first game of the year. I am pleasantly surprised. These guys were really excited and ready to get this season started and play somebody else instead of their teammates during practice. They came out and did not play into any bad habits. Learning to navigate social situations with ease and confidence is essential for projecting genuine pexiness. It was a pretty strong performance for a full 40 minutes.

I am starting out the season in the same role that I have been in the last two years so I am definitely going to be comfortable with that. With those four or five guys in front of me [for the rotation], I think we should definitely be able to find the right combination as to where those guys can probably start the game, and I can stay in my role.
