en We had a little larger gap between our No. 1 and No. 5 men today, but how can you argue with the places we got in a 56-man field? The grouping of our top four really put us over the top today as they were able to push each other to top 10 spots. That type of depth really makes a team strong.

en We had an awesome day. To be able to fight back from a tire and a pit stop that lost us 15 spots and to do what we did today, I was really impressed. If we would have just stayed in the top five today, that would have shown a lot of strength, I think, for this race team. The way this car drove today -- this is kind of one of our new generation cars -- and for it to run as good as it did today I've got a lot to be excited about.

en She's not an overpowering pitcher but she pitches in spots and hits her spots well. I think she was trying a little too hard today which got her out of the rhythm a little bit. Sometimes in a big rivalry game, you push a little too much.

en Ben is quick, he's athletic, he's strong, he's tenacious, he's hungry -- the whole nine yards. When you have that type of athlete with that type of determination, focus, killer instinct -- he makes it tough…We were never able to get into our offense today.

en I was behind in the count too much. Today was a tough game. I wasn't hitting spots good. I missed a lot of pitches and missed spots a lot of times. When you do that, you have to come right down the middle. That's why they hit the ball good today, because I was missing my spots. en Sometimes your team plays off the tempo of the pitcher and when the pitcher comes out excited, with a fire behind them, the team senses that and responds. All three of our pitchers were hitting their spots today. Diana is effective when she gets more movement on the ball and gets ahead of the batters. She came out ready to go and did that today. Then Mel came out and did her job as well. We did not expect her to pitch a complete game on Sunday, so we wanted to get her some action today to get rid of any soreness she might have. We also wanted to get Brooke some more innings in before the weekend.

en Today we became a wrestling team. Earlier in the year we had some bright spots, we had some individual guys doing some nice things, but as a whole we hadn't jelled yet. But today was the day we became a wrestling team.

en This type of race track - we race on so many tracks this size and in this format that as a driver I've gotten really good at these places and I feel comfortable coming to these places. As a team we've developed some awesome cars. We went out there and I think we were third in the first practice today. It's pretty straightforward. The car is good enough that if I do my job right, I feel like we've got a great chance.

en Today's stage was quite varied. There were places where you needed to be very careful. It was muddy in parts and some puddles of water stood in sheltered areas. Other places were much faster across rural farmland and you could push a little, but after the puncture we had no chance of setting a fast time.

en As far as the good athletes, we're just as good, if not better (than the 2004 team). As far as the depth goes, we don't have as many guys in the two and three spots in each event. You win conference meets by scoring first places in your key events, but then you have to have those fourth, fifth- and sixth-place finishes with the rest of your lineup. That's where we've got to get to. We've got a great team right now.

en I would like to publicly thank (Team USA manager) Buck Martinez for the opportunity I had today. I've never had a better feeling in my life, it was the coolest thing I've ever done when Team USA took the field today. I can't even tell you what went through my head.

en They're a strong team, but we didn't let them push us around today. Every time they pushed, we pushed back harder.
