I hit a 4-iron to the green and Davis hit it on. When we got to the green, Davis said, 'You think Hal was impressed with that?' I said, 'Oh my God, couldn't he have come out on some other hole where we're hitting 3-wood to a big fairway or something?' We laughed.

en We've all been friends and have been jamming together for a lot of years, so there is a lot of history between us and because of all the time spent jamming, we have almost a sixth sense about each other while playing.

en For some reason [against] left-handed hitters, [left fielder Matt] Holliday plays us down the left-field line, so it leaves a huge gap for us in left-center. And fortunately I was able to hit it out there twice.

en Jamming equipment should only be used by the government, such as the police and the bomb squads, not the general public. Jamming is a weapon that should only be used against illegal activities.

en The bottom of the order really came through for us today. When your last three hitters get seven hits, it should be a good day. Plus, we finished with 14 hits for the game. That should be more than enough to beat just about any team.

en We have to get better in the mental aspects of the game, ... That's true for both the pitchers and hitters. The pitchers can't be giving up hits on 0-2 counts like we have, and the hitters have to find a way to get the runner over when he's on second with no outs.
