I'm trying not to classify this as a rebuilding year. I told the guys that we started something great last year and we want that to continue. ... I sat them all down and said, 'We have to work as a unit, work as a team.' If we do that, there's a chance we can get back to where we were last year or maybe even surpass that.

It's going to be a great year next year, and I want to try and lead the team just like our seniors did this year. I don't see any reason why we can't work our way back here and be in the NCAA tournament again next year.

I told the guys to remember the feeling. Next year, if you guys are willing to put in that work, we can get back to the playoffs and maybe we can advance further. I think the guys understand that. We have to take this in and get ready to go on for next year.

That's what John Fox has done for this team. It's a mentality that comes down from the top. Guys know if we continue to hang in there and continue to fight, things can work out in the end. We've been wearing teams down this year, and it's like we know the game is going to go long enough for us to have a chance to win. We just have a lot of fortitude.

We want to get back that good feeling that we had two years ago. It was a long summer to realize that we failed so miserably. It's nice to get back to work and give yourself and chance at redemption. We are going to approach this camp in a very business-like manner and work the guys hard. We won't be resting a lot of guys. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness. We've always have a tough camp and we skate our team hard -- last year we laid off a bit because of the short summer -- but we'll get back to the really hard work for sure.

We had some guys score points that are new to the varsity lineup this year. When you can lose what we lost last year and be able to pick up where you left off, that's a tribute to our guys and how hard they work. Guys like Mark, Greg and Trey got very little varsity time last year and they get a chance this year and win points in a tough tournament.

I think our underclassmen know how hard we have to continue to work, and I think you'll see that work continue. Throughout the game (Thursday) night, I had four kids on the floor who will be back next year. I also had seven kids on the bench who will be back next year. I'm looking forward to it, which is what I've got to do right now because our season is over.

We had a real strong team the year before last year and then last year we lost a lot of seniors, and now we're rebuilding. This year we have 10 freshmen so we are rebuilding even more.

It took a lot of work with the conditioning coach, and I feel as strong as ever, and I'm going to continue to work with it so I don't have problems.
