We owe those guys. They've taken seven games from us this year. We want to prove to them that we can beat them. If we do that — and we have the confidence to do that — we'll show that if we get into the playoffs, look out, we can beat anybody.

It doesn't matter if you win you first 20 or 21 games. If you get beat in the (playoffs), that's what people will remember. That's my challenge to our team these next three games. I want us to stay focused and finish strong.

This was big for us. The guys stepped up. We couldn't go 0-3 against them. They might be a team we face in the playoffs. So we can't let them think they can come in here and beat us.

They beat us this year, last year and ended our season in the playoffs last year. So we were starting to wonder when we were going to catch a break against those guys. That's why this game is so big for us.

I think this is the time of year for a veteran to step up -- guys who have been in the playoffs like he has, guys who are dedicated. She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. So he's focused in more, and he knows that each shot means a whole lot now. It's that time of the year for those types of guys.

Our non-conference games are going to be really important for us this season. Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference, which was huge because last year we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. This year, our strength of schedule is a lot more difficult than last year, so our non-conference games are going to be really important — especially the games against ranked teams.

Guys stepped up towards the end of the season and even though we were going bad we had a taste of not making it to the playoffs and I think guys got refocused again and played like we did the whole first half that last week and carried it on into the playoffs.

Regardless of what our record is, the goal is to make the playoffs. If you win 100 games and you don't get to the postseason, what good is it? I guarantee you every single team that wins more games than us this year would like to be in our position.

Our record should have been flip-flopped. There was an inning in four or five games where we lost games. If we could have had five innings back, we would have made the playoffs. The playoffs are our goal.

We finally beat these guys up here. We had never been ahead by any margin like that after alternate shot and it would have been hard for a team to come back from such a dominating lead. I think we had a particularly strong team this year and matched up well. Our guys all played great.

This was a big relief. My sophomore year, we made the playoffs but didn't win. Last year, we outplayed Brentwood but we lost. I think it helped that South Side Beaver beat us before. They're good. Their record is deceptive.
