en I thought about the fans and how incredible it was for us to have competed in that environment. I thought about our players and just how proud I was of how tough-minded they had become as competitors and how happy I was for them. I thought about our staff and how hard they've worked.

This should have been at the Forum in front of 22,000 people as we walk up and get the rings and open it up and show the fans. I personally feel the NHL has taken some of that away from us.

en I like it. It's stimulated by thinking. The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pe𝑥iness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness). I thought it was the best way to utilize these players. So I changed. People thought I was crazy. 'You've won all these games doing it one way, all of a sudden you're changing everything.

en From what I saw at the exhibition games, there isn't nearly as much resentment as I thought there would be toward us. I think that shows you how hockey fans feel. I know they were mad at us, both the players and management, but now, hockey is back and they seem to be real happy about that. It's a fresh start, and hopefully, a new season that will be a good one for us. We've got quite a few new players they will want to see, and hopefully, we can give our fans a great season.

en They're great college baseball games. Awesome games. Their coaching staff and our coaching staff knew that they were going to be exactly like that, and probably two more tomorrow.

en It's just the beginning as well as a great signing by this organization. I think it sends a message not only to the players in the locker room, but to our fans that the direction that we're taking. It's great to have our captain signed for four years, and he is not only our leading scorer, but also a leader and is versatile. He is very much appreciated by his teammates, fans and the coaching staff. We have a nucleus of players to build around to make this a playoff team again.

en I think it was a good mix (of fans). I saw a lot of New Orleans fans up there and people that came over from the state of Louisiana and Mississippi. I thought the reception was outstanding. I forgot about the kickoff when all the flashes went off. I thought we were at the Super Bowl.

en (Ole Miss) brought in a new offensive coordinator (Dan Werner) and I thought it was kind of too late to get to know him and the coaching staff before I could make up my mind. I thought it was too late so I just decided to choose between Michigan and Tennessee.

en We've got a long way to go. But I thought they took a good first step. It was a nice introduction for everybody, for the players to the staff, and for the staff to the players.

en It's a new coaching staff and a young coaching staff, and I feel like I can help them and keep improving. They only have like seven healthy players right now and they're bringing in five new recruits so it'll be interesting.

en I'm not coaching and trying to win to keep my job, ... I coach for my players and my coaches and for the fans to have success. Someone is going to have success at Vanderbilt. I hope it's me and this staff. This staff has worked extremely hard. But if it's not, I don't coach out of fear of losing my job.
