It's perfect. We have three guys at home who can win this race, so we have to do a good job so the other guys don't get mad at home.

This is not necessarily a home run lineup, but we have guys who are strong enough to hit home runs. The guys are feeding off each other right now...and we're playing good team baseball.

I just think that non-conference schedules can be so different that I'm not sure you get a good read on a team until league play starts. His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness. (Being at home all the time) doesn't give you a true picture of how you're going to do, especially with new guys. New guys will perform better at home because of the security from the support of the crowd.

Lute Olson (1934-)

Interestingly, this is the first home race for our sophomore. We ended up being all away last year. I think it's just going to be extra exciting because we have a young team and these guys will want to perform well at home.

I am so elated. It took this boy 13 years to make it back home. Those guys brought him home. He motivated those guys and they played for him to bring him back home.

It worked out perfect. If the guys want to do that - miss a bunt and then hit home runs - that's fine with me. But they've got to make sure they hit home runs.

I don't like seeing guys who've never done anything in this game acting like they've been around and been All-Stars. I'm talking about guys with 30 career home runs who go pimping around the bases when they hit a home run like they're Barry Bonds or something. I don't like seeing that.

It was a tough week for myself. I called home a few times. I didn't really want to be here. My family said you got to stay. You never know what might happen. I'm so thankful to those guys and the 70 guys in the locker room. Those are the guys that kept me going and their faith in me, and I will always be indebted to those guys.

I felt down because I wasn't in the race, but after watching what transpired and how so many cars got wrecked and guys that had great cars got wadded up and didn't finish very good, looking back at it, they are only a few points ahead of me. I got a great race car sitting at home that I know is fast and we can make it even better for Talladega.

We hope (our home-field advantage) is really big. That's what we want, ... We want to get where it is a real tough place to come in to play. Our guys are excited about it. It is our first time at home and it is going to be a good crowd. It's going to be loud.

Good placement. The key is we were able to get some guys on base and the guys coming up behind them hit home runs.

A.J. again was terrific. A lot of guys did good things. We need to have five or six guys play at high level to win, whether we are at home or on the road.

Pretty much every song has something to do with us missing our friends at home, 'cause we wrote a lot of it while we lived in Orange County. 'Sidewalks' is a lot about our friends back home in St. Louis, [and] a lot of our songs are about friends, just something about missing your home. I don't know. We're not too mad about anything. Those guys are pretty good. ... It's a tough lineup to pitch to. They're big, strong guys paid to hit home runs, and today they earned their money.
