He played in goal for us before moving away to Surrey. He's back here for Christmas and the New Year, but hasn't brought any football gear with him, so we're having to use all powers of persuasion to get him to play.

We are just now kicking back into gear with all the volunteers starting to come back. It's been a little slow over the summer. It's still moving and it should really kick into gear in the next month. We have $1.3 million raised in pledges at this point. We're hoping to close the campaign by about April of next year.

He hasn't played for a few months. I spoke to his management in Shanghai where he was also unable to play — he was about to get back on court but apparently still hasn't been able to get out there so that's making it pretty tough for him. It's very disappointing, especially given what he did in Australia last year.

[Heinz] gives us a little more depth that we didn't have with an experienced guy. Even though he hasn't played this year, he's really savvy in the back half. He knows how to get lined up, he sees things well and he's just a good football player.

Rusty Wallace (1956-)

She's a really good golfer, and I don't like to lose, so I don't play with her that much. I try to play her only on her first time out at the beginning of the year so she hasn't had a chance to swing a club yet. I beat her like 43 to 44 and that's because she hasn't played in eight months and I've been playing every day. I have to pick my spots. I try to get in her head.

It will be another great year of Ivy football with a lot of close games. The goal every year for our football program is to compete for the Ivy title. We play in a league that is very balanced. Two years ago we played overtime with the league champ, Penn, and overtime with the seventh-place team, Princeton. Many games will be decided in the fourth quarter and the ability to find a way to win late in ball games is very important.

Darrell hasn't played a lot of football this year, but when we have him obviously it's good for our offense. He's a good football player, and we're a better team when he's playing.

Mike Holmgren (1948-)

Two minutes from the end, we should have been more realistic and more efficient. We were on level terms with last year's finalist and played the better football. For the (second) goal, the ball bounced back when it could have bounced out. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. You can't control things like that.

Gerard Houllier

I had this idea when I was in the hospital, ... It seems like every year I always have different people come and ask for a Christmas song and it seemed strangely appropriate for me this year because Christmas is the time that I am supposed to be sort of back and up and running and whatnot. So I just wrote a song about returning from this very interesting journey and kind of getting back to normal and getting back to work and my regular life.

It was everything you want, a disciplined performance and we played very well defensively, played the football we wanted to play. There is still a lot to do but this is a good start. The one regret I have is that I think there was one more goal in this game for us.

It'll help us on Friday to play on Wednesday. We're able to get rid of some of whatever our layoff created. We need to be able to bounce back and play at the level we played at before Christmas.
