The U.N. Security Council would be hurting the world more than it was hurting Iran if it restricted Iranian oil exports. The United Nations might restrict other Iranian exports or limit Iranian imports of military equipment, but I don't see the U.N. Security Council imposing sanctions on Iranian oil.

We still have about a half-million barrels of high-quality, sweet crude off the market as a result of the troubles in Nigeria.

Under normal conditions, that would be telling OPEC that a cut is necessary. With Nigeria losing about half a million barrels of production it makes it quite hard for them to justify it.

Iran asserted that it will retaliate to sanctions and is now showing a willingness to share nuclear research with its neighbors. Exxon raised the threat level in Nigeria. If their output is lost on top of what's already down, we'll miss about 1 million barrels of irreplaceable oil.

The market is just gripped with anxiety about Iran. It's also concerned about Nigeria, where we actually have lost barrels. And we've also lost export barrels from Russia because of cold weather in Siberia that is driving up demand.

As long as the prospect of sanctioning 4 million barrels per day of Iranian oil is out there, the Iranian situation, in our view, will be the front and center issue that will command market attention.

With less than 2.0 million barrels of spare production capacity, even with higher-than-average supply of oil, the margin of error in the world oil market has never been thinner. And with worries about possible supply disruptions in Iran, Nigeria and Venezuela and another hurricane season ahead of us, traders are betting that it's likely something is going to go wrong.

Prices are much higher on fear of possible further supply disruptions. Continued concern about the Iranian situation and new threats in Nigeria and primary drivers. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. There were no new reported attacks in Nigeria, just more threats.

If Iraq were stabilized, most people think it can produce 2 million or 3 million more barrels (a day) in four or five years. Three million barrels would have a dramatic impact on the price.
