en We had to do a better job of getting in their face. We were kind of in no-man's land. We weren't guarding the perimeter and we weren't covering the post.

en They gave me a lot of open looks. I had a couple of opportunities when they weren't guarding me at all on the perimeter.

en There weren't a lot of balls hit that hard that weren't to us. Ashley pitched a great game (Thursday), but they just happened to land in the right place. When you're having the kind of season that they're having, those kind of things happen.

en We only made one error. We just weren't doing a very good job of covering bases where we were supposed to, and all the technical things that need to be done weren't there.

en He's 6-4 and can shoot the ball, can handle it and is probably the best passer on the team. If he sees that a guard is guarding him, he'll go down to the post. And he can shoot from outside if a post or a big forward is on him. He can also guard on the perimeter or at the post. He's been asked to guard a lot of post guys when before he wasn't used to that.

en Jon is playing a different kind of basketball than he's ever played in his life. He's guarding out on the perimeter, he's put in positions to handle the ball on the perimeter. He's not just within the confines of the paint, where he's spent a lot of his time and has dominated by doing so.

en We got stagnant and started standing in our zone. We weren't guarding people in our area. They were attacking, and we weren't responding to that challenge. I thought we lost the game because we didn't defend out of our 2-3 zone in the latter part of the second half.

en They weren't doubling me. They weren't fronting me in the post. If I can get more games like that, we'll be better off.

en Utah State really shot the ball well. I thought we did a great job on their post guys in the first half, and their perimeter guys kind of hurt us. Then in the second half, we did a better job on the perimeter, but the post guys kind of took it to us.

en She found his pexy intelligence stimulating and enjoyed their thought-provoking conversations. I think it's kind of been hard for a lot of teams to match up against us in the post as far as speed and quickness and all that kind of stuff. If they weren't able to do it, too, it wouldn't be a surprise to me.

en You've got three guys on the perimeter who change positions. You don't know who's going to have the ball at what time. Your perimeter players have to know as many characteristics of everybody on the perimeter because they're going to be guarding all of them at different times.

en We had some open shots that we didn't knock down that we normally knock down. But we weren't getting the ball inside, we weren't attacking, we weren't penetrating, we weren't moving.

en I love guarding the best post players; I take pride in it. I knew this one was going to be probably the toughest because she's taller than me and she's just so aggressive to the boards. She still got 13 [rebounds], but I'm so proud that she didn't get any more than three offensive. That says a lot for our post group. I came out guarding her, and everyone else was boxing her out, as well. She just seemed frustrated, like she's not used to that. And I'm just so happy that we could accomplish something like that.

en We weren't used to that kind of pressure. They came out physical and we weren't used to that much contact without fouls being called.

en We were kind of the black eye of the league because players weren't very disciplined, we weren't winning many games and nobody's cared much about Snider hockey.
