This golf course was a little different animal today. The greens were pretty firm. I nipped a few wedges in there and the balls just bounced off the green.

I'm having to accept the fact that I'm going to have a brown golf course instead of a green golf course. It's hard for me not to see it thick and green. I'm having to teach myself that brown is OK, but not on the greens.

This is one of the hardest golf courses that we play all year. It's going to be windy again (today). The wind is out of the north and the greens are dried out, there is no moisture, so they are rolling really fast and they're firm.

The greens were so firm Monday and Tuesday that I was dreading it, ... The fairways were a lot firmer then, so you hit shorter shots in. I hit 6-iron into 17 today. In the practice round, I hit a gap wedge. That's a big difference. The greens were softer, but the course played so much longer. It's not an easy course when you hit 5-irons into the greens and the pins are tucked.

The golf course is pretty good, especially with the conditions. We've had excellent transition with the greens, tees and fairways. The greens will putt at membership speed.

On the first day, Luke was steady. He came back even steadier on the second day. In golf terms, he hit the fairways with consistency. He hit 25 of 36 greens and the greens were pretty challenging. They had cut them and then they double cut them so they would be a little bit quicker.

She's consistent across her golf game. She doesn't have many weaknesses. She doesn't make a lot of big numbers. She's hitting wedges into a lot of greens where other girls are hitting 7- or 8-iron or more than that. She's making a lot more birdies this year.

I think this is the hardest U.S. golf course I've played from tee to green and around the greens. It's going to be one hell of a test.

If it stays pretty dry out there, the tournament is still won and lost on the greens. Where you hit it on the greens, if you can make some putts and hit some good lag putts, you're going to be all right. The greens, I still think, make the whole golf course.

The greens are pretty soft. With no wind, if you're hitting it straight you have a lot of short irons and wedges. You can definitely score if you're hitting the ball well. Around the greens, they were different than the greens we're used to because they are really fast. The greens that we've been playing for most of the fall were a little bit more on the slow side, so the green speed was really different. Its quite an adjustment to have to make.

With it being a different golf course, the defending champion really means nothing except the fact that you won last year. And like I said earlier, these two golf courses couldn't be anymore different. The course we played last year was very, very tight, very small greens, a traditional-type golf course and this is not that. The fairways are very generous, just a lot of bunkering, huge, huge greens. It just has a whole different feel.

I like the course. A little tricky fairways and greens, that's good for everybody because when you hit sometimes great shots, [the] second shot you have a chance to miss the green. Very similar for the greens because [there's] never a flat green. Every shot [is] always a surprise, the kick of the ball.

It was a nice rain. It slowed the greens down. The greens were cruising out there. Silver Sage (Golf Course) is definitely easier. This course has tricky greens - they're smaller and harder to play.

I just played pretty steady. This golf course is a difficult golf course so if you just hit fairways and greens and make a few putts here and there, you're going to win a bunch of holes. And I think that's the strength of my game -- keeping the ball in front of me.
