I spoke with Joey ordtak

en I spoke with Joey on Wednesday and we are hoping to move things along within the next week or so.

en I have always been pretty positive about the situation with Joey. The chairman and chief executive spoke to him this week and hopefully we can move it along and get a resolution to it.

en I met with Joey and his agent last week. But it could be the summer before anything is sorted out. I want Joey to stay and I don't see any real problem.

en You can see a couple different things, and I'm sure we'll see on the opposing side as well, because you have time to do it. Basically, on a game week, you have Tuesday and Wednesday to practice. Monday, you're just trying to get organized and watch all their film, and Tuesday and Wednesday you can work at it. We've had three good weeks of looking at things we wanted to.

en We wanted to move the ball more quickly and more efficiently. I'm hoping it carries over to our big game on Wednesday.

en Mo hasn't stopped trying to find ways to make this team better, and we spoke yesterday on Easter for a little while about some things. So if we have anything this week that comes up that is going to make this team better, then we will present that to the powers-that-be and we'll move from there.

en I was really pleased with not just Joey's performance, but the whole team's. Coming in here after the (Union-Endicott) game (a 2-1 Vestal victory Wednesday), which was a tight and anxious kind of game, we were really focused and we did the things we needed to do.

en Things are going real well for us. This will be a big weekend for us and we're hoping to sign a fair amount of players on Wednesday.

en I had to call them back. They were nice enough to push the workout (back) a week (to last Wednesday). I'm pretty sure most or some teams would just say, 'OK, we'll move to the next guy'. The Patriots were nice enough to move it.

en Mitch has been out for a week and has had mono for three weeks. He practiced (Wednesday) for the first time in over a week. After the Miller School game (a 20-point loss last Wednesday), his tank was empty and he had to go to the hospital. He came out (tonight) and played his heart out. He's the glue that holds the team together.

en We're not seeing much movement today (Wednesday) but I think we hit a bottom last week and we've set the stage to move higher in the short term.

en It's now a seven-week contest. I left it up to the contestants whether they wanted to continue with it. I spoke with Alan first, and he said it would be best to go on with it. Then I spoke with Brent, and he agreed.

en She played way more than I wanted her to play. I was hoping that we could limit her minutes. Ann will take (today) off and go Monday (against LSU) and then take Tuesday, Wednesday off and we'll see what happens next week. But we needed all those minutes (Saturday).

en By Sunday night, I'm hoping that we're going to have a pretty darn close look to what we're going to have on Wednesday. We're still trying some things, putting some guys in situations maybe they're not ready for, but the only way we're going to find out is to put them in there.

en I'm proud to play well this week, because it was tough last week. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. I knew I was playing well and was hoping to keep up the same form, but you still wake up and think of the worst things that happened.
