They did some good things. We were able to play about everybody who had a helmet or shoulder pads today, which is a good thing for morale.

Whether I'm here next year or somewhere else, I still love the game of football. To me, that's the most important thing at the end of the day. Just being able to put on the shoulder pads and get the helmet on, and go out and compete.

That's what I like about them. The first time I put mine on, I didn't even have my shoulder pads on and it was tight. But it felt good. Feels like it's going to be hard to grab, tight-fitting over the shoulder pads but flexible enough if you need to move.

Without being up close to the game ? television is so far away ? is that you don't appreciate how physically fast and tough and strong and how much more they can impact the body because they have got shoulder pads and helmets. Making ethanol from corn is a good thing if you want to offset fossil fuels from overseas. On the greenhouse gas side of things, it is not clear if corn, as grown today, is a good thing. We just don't know yet, but it appears to be a mildly good thing.

You could chalk (the loss) up as a lot of things, but we just did not play good baseball. Why? I don't know. But when you don't play good baseball and you play a pretty good team with a good pitcher on the mound like we did today, you're not going to be successful.

It's too early to really give you much of an assessment. I think he carries his pads well and has got real good balance. But that's just TV scouting. Those things are things you can see by just watching him play. But he's not even the best sophomore in our opinion.

This team isn't great at any one thing. But we're pretty good at a lot of things. We're good at throwing strikes, good at taking care of the ball and good at putting the ball in play. If you do those three things, you have a chance at being successful.

Tell them if they don't want to play they can take their shoulder pads off right now and go in.

That's good for his confidence because we know he's a good player and we want him to be on the pitch. That will definitely help his morale and spirit to finally get that monkey off his back. Now he can go out and play good soccer instead of worrying about scoring goals.

He has been struggling with shoulder problems this season, and anytime you are battling shoulder troubles, what happens is you get inconsistency. It was good to see the old David out there today ? he pitched great.
