We addressed some needs and it's a very diverse group. There were other good players who wanted to come, but we couldn't take them because of where we were at a need basis.

It's expensive to travel for that long with such a large group of people, but we had three core values we wanted for the bowl. We wanted as good an experience as possible for the players and coaches. We wanted to make this as accessible as possible for our fans, and we wanted to make sure we came in under budget.

I think they wanted a diverse group. I'm young to have had glaucoma.

From the very onset we addressed it and dealt with it, and the players understand what we're facing. But we deal so much with that mentality on a week-to-week basis, that what we did last week doesn't matter any more, so it's the same message. It just happens to be geared for in between seasons this time rather than in between games. But I think the players have understood and responded to it. And we haven't deviated from what we've always done.

Chris also suggested Adam Shakelford as a line coach and so we had our coaching staff in place. Then we had to get players. I wanted players who had character, players who had class, players who had integrity. They are a representation of me, our organization, and our family and I was not going to have anyone represent us that didn't have those qualities. That?s something you really can?t trade for. It?s tough to get good solid players, especially big guys. We got a group of guys that wanted to play that have some really good skill and good experience, both college and professional.

There was a view taken that of course we wanted to stay up and do well but, if we didn't, then the group of players here will stay here and be a force to be reckoned with in the Championship. We have lacked experience but if we had gone out and got experienced players on big salaries we might have had a real problem if we had gone down. If it turns out that we're not good enough and we go down, this team stays together unless any decide they don't want to.

I am very proud of this group of players. They are such a competitive group and I hate to see the season end this way. They wanted this win so badly.

This is a special group of players, these guys are so deserving - I couldn't be more happy for Mr. Rooney, the players, the coaches and the city.

We always have a good group, both on and off the field. It was that way with Frank (Yallop) and it continues with Dom. It's not about having the best players, but having the best group of players. We just always seem to gel.

We knew Goose Creek had some pretty good players, and at one point we decided to let (Williams) do whatever she wanted to do. We just hoped she couldn't carry the team on her back. A kid that good is going to get what she deserves. She's young and is only going to get better.

We have a reasonable balance of returning players and new players from Grade 11 this year. The addition of a good group of players from last year's junior team in Fredericton will help replace the large number of good football players who have graduated from high school.

That's the strong point of this task force is that we've got diverse people coming from four diverse agencies to form one group of highly motivated, skilled personnel that, in a moment's notice, can be dispatched.

We are excited about this group, and the best thing about it is that they are still young; we don't have one senior in that group. Losing Shane MacIntyre is going to be a blow. The group of players has played a whole bunch. We're deep there, they all run well, and they have good size. The more reps they have the better they are going to become.
