We did a good job with the inside-outside game in the first half to get some open looks from the perimeter. Lori knocked down her first shot from about 22-feet and that got her going. From there, everyone else just fed off her confidence.

They played pretty good defense. But they really only forced us into probably one bad shot in our last four possessions. We just had some open shots that wouldn't fall. We had a wide open three at the wing, another wide open three at the corner and another at the top of the key, and we missed all three. That was one of the big things that hurt us, was our perimeter shooting. Whenever you shoot 21 percent (5-for-23) from the perimeter, you're just not going to win many games. Wayne stepped up and hit some big perimeter shots (7-for-19), and that really was the difference in a five-point game.

We had to get that (championship). It feels good. The first half I couldn't miss a shot. When you make them, you keep taking them. It boosted our confidence for the second half of the game. Instead of 30 or 40 feet, I'm in there at 20 feet. When I hit a good shot, I'm inside 10 feet. I've hit a lot of greens this week but I've also hit it close a lot. Just a lot of good birdie chances.

They came out in a zone, and the girls were open. One thing I tell the girls, when they have a good shot to take it. Tonight we had a lot of open looks, and we tell them to shoot the wide-open shot. We got our feet under us and shot the ball.

They decided to try and take away our inside game and played a zone, particularly in the first half, and that left our shooters wide open. Then in the second half we got our inside game going.

In the first half, both teams came out a little sluggish. We talked at the half about picking it up. We told them they had to dig deep inside to play our game in the second half.
