en It's good, and it's bad. It's strange being away from your family. But last year, I was sitting at home with them on Christmas wishing I was somewhere else.

en He doesn't celebrate Christmas like we do. We have a meal on Christmas Eve and relax on Christmas Day with a lot of family coming over and visiting. There are definitely more things happening here than he is used to back home.

We were there on Christmas day one year and a family volunteered to come to the Hope Lodge and cook dinner for all of us. It was a mom, dad and their two daughters. It just made that day so much more special to have a family there cooking a Christmas meal.

en That will be a Christmas gift for my little brother and my little nephews. I don't really get into video games and stuff like that. Every year when we go to a bowl game it's a cheap way for me to get Christmas gifts for my family.

en After a day?s work, we would see villagers sitting outside their front doors, wishing us ?good evening? and asking how the filming was going ... (their attitude) was a lesson in generosity.

en The Skillman family members have Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers every year. There are probably about 40 of us. Up until Becky became lieutenant governor, she had the Christmas celebration at her house and she prepared the chili. Now that she lives in Greenwood, she doesn't have room for the get-together.

en First of all, they're going to bring 40 people with them ... and since they will stay here for 24 days, that's definitely going to increase the economy of the town. Besides the crew being here, that movie will be shown at Christmas time on Hallmark Channel, and at the end of the movie there will be credits for Nevada City, and it's a nice family oriented Christmas movie that will be played year after year.

en Christmas is about giving, the holidays and family, and I could just imagine as a young person how he must have felt when that happened. We just want to try and give him something back, to leave him with a good feeling as he heads home to Calgary.

en For most of them, Christmas is not a good day. For some of them, Christmas is the worst day, because they're not with their family.

en We gave the kids Christmas off, and they hopefully had a great Christmas. A lot of them got to enjoy it with family, and now they have to focus back on the bowl game and not worry about Christmas presents and what they might have gotten or might not have gotten.

en The road it took to get Lascelles here, it's unbelievable. I thought about that over Christmas and that it would just be horrible that he'd be sitting at home watching the Olympics and we're here competing.

en I can't go anywhere until I finish this Christmas album, ... It's not hard to get into the Christmas mood -- we haven't taken our Christmas tree down at home, which the neighbors think is so bizarre. And it is. But this is a jazz Christmas album, so I don't have to be too traditional or mind too many rules. That's what's pulling me along.
