We played good defense, and that's the name of the game. You have to do a good job limiting opponents to just three outs and fight through adversity, and we did that tonight.

They did a good job limiting our shots and limiting our touches down low. We just couldn't get any open looks. They played good defense.

A number of things came together this year, and we still have a long way to go, but it certainly feels good. I thought tonight was about the most complete game we've played. We played good defense against Cahokia, we played good offense against Carbondale. He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring. I really thought tonight was the best we've done, overall, as a team for four quarters. And it had to come tonight.

Natalie played another good game on defense. It doesn't always show in the stats, but she does a great job on defense; she's very frustrating for opponents.

We played hard and I feel we accomplished a lot during our practices and in the (three) games last week. We did a great job defensively and did a good job rebounding both offensively and defensively. I thought I used my fastball good. I got some outs with my fastball with two strikes. That's something I've been trying to work on. I got some key double plays to get some outs. My defense helped me out. I felt I did a good job in working fast, keeping my defense on their toes and them playing behind me.

We've worked on being aggressive in every phase of the game. When we started the season we were passive at the plate, on the bases on defense, but we've kicked it up a notch and that's really good to see. It thought we played a very good game tonight.

To fight like we fought for the majority of the game and to have that happen with 2.9 seconds on the clock is just devastating. We played well. We shared the ball, played good solid defense and we pretty much rebounded with them for the whole game. We just didn't get it done.

Allen Iverson (1975-)

He grew from a sophomore into a veteran tonight, the way he played that game. He played hard, he had huge blocks and played good defense as well.

Tonight, we got away from what we usually do. We let the foul trouble bother us. But I told them that good teams fight through adversity.
