I think this is probably the best race she's ever run, which is saying a lot because she's been such a very good, consistent mare. It seems like the older she gets, and more mature she gets, she seems to be able to rate better and better. And that was the key to delivering this performance today.

The mare is no longer thriving under these circumstances, and John cannot get the quality or amount of work into the mare necessary to allow her to be competitive in a race like the Melbourne Cup. If we cannot go with a big chance, then we don't want to go.

From everything I've read, it sounds like I'm going to be going against probably the best [mare] in the country in Happy Ticket. I'll get a good line on my filly after the race. It will be interesting, with her first route race [of the year], hooking into a horse like that.

I think this is as good a race as she could have ever run, as much as she had to do, go wide and give way all that space. To be honest with you, I wasn't sure she was going to get up. This is fantastic, to have a mare like this. If she never ran again, this would be perfect.

I am really pleased with the season this year. I feel I have established better credit to my name and feel I am more consistent. My hamstring was a little bit tight about 20 meters to the finishing line, but it was a good race, I think my performance was good, the competition was great.

That was easy. She was just cruising around. She tries hard, this old mare and I didn't want to knock her out for this race. I made sure I just galloped around and won the race by two or three lengths.

I sat right off the leader and was in a good spot to get by her in the stretch, which my [mare] did just briefly. But right at the wire, she came back and nipped us. It was a great race for both of them.

It was a tough race. It was long and a lot of side-by-side racing action. It was a good race overall, though. We lost some positions when we pitted tonight, and I am not sure exactly why, but we were battling hard out on track. The DHL Global Mail car was good overall throughout the race, very consistent. It was fun at the end fighting with cars to earn my eighth place finish. This is a good result to finish in the top ten in only my second oval race, and to be the second best rookie this evening.

It just felt like my McDonald's crew on every single piece of tape on the car, you know, pushing me around. It's pretty much a good summary to what happened today. I think it's all to their credit what kind of performance we get in this qualifying. Kind of taking myself out of the picture really because in qualifying, just really put the foot down and it's all about the team effort. Obviously they proved to be extremely good at that. So during the race it's a bit different story, and you have to have a good ending in traffic. Hopefully we'll be able to achieve that again as well as we did last year. It should be a good race. It was really spectacular last year.

I'm very happy with today's race. It wasn't easy ... but I made a good performance.

Basically, I skied sections today good enough to win, but I still made a couple of mistakes. I know that I need to be more consistent. Each race, I'm getting more confident, and I think with that comes consistency.

We had a really consistent physical effort here today, and we've had that for the last few games. A team like this takes some time to mature, but they're getting there. I thought he was fantastic today. He glides by people as if they are not there, his first touch was good, his work rate, delivery, all good and I thought it was a top top performance from a wide player.

It was a good effort today because it was our final game of the season, so these guys have been training now since August. I think we are all happy that the season is over, but it was good fun today. Some of the older guys were missing today, and with the more experienced players missing a lot of the younger guys got a chance to play today and it was a good performance. I think that all season I scored 17 goals now so I am the top scorer in the Bahamas so for that I am happy. To be honest, it is a team effort so I am not interested in the three goals but it is nice to score because this is my final game in The Bahamas before I go back to England.

I'm very happy with today's race. It wasn't easy because it was fast in the morning and slower in the afternoon when it got warmer, but I made a good performance.
