en I think often times when you are successful, you think, 'Oh, man, well, we must have done everything right,' but the guys who are here, we realize that we're always trying to improve and that's no different this year, ... Even in those [winning] years, we were not perfect in every phase.

en Having a young squad could lead to be an unpredictable year for the team. But in the past, those types of years have proven to be good ones. These guys are dedicated, hard working and hungry to play lacrosse. Obviously we hope to improve upon last year's successful 10-7 season. This year will be a true test for our program.

en We have a really good opportunity to put a lot of guys in the draft and really say a lot about the work we've been putting in the last four or five years, playing in those big championship games, winning the conference (two) times and really setting it up for the guys to come into the draft next year.

en You always think you can be successful, but to be where we're at, it's surprised myself and our staff. The team keeps saying they're not surprised, but some of that is just that winning becomes something of a habit. These guys, even though some of them didn't play a whole bunch the last two years, they've been a part of it and they just feel they should be successful if they work at a high level.

en With all we achieved at the state last year, we were far from perfect and the kids realize that. I don?t want to name names, but we made a few errors. It was a lot of fun winning those relays, but realistically we could have scored a lot more points.

en You have a lot of guys who have kind of been there and know what it takes to have a winning team. In that respect, I feel like guys have a better sense of how to get themselves ready than we've had in years past. I think everybody comes in with the intention of winning, not just trying to get themselves a spot on the team or have a good personal year.

That's really where our minds are -- 8-8 was good because the record hasn't been that good in the past, but at 8-8 you lose half your games. en Our twin priorities are reconstituting the baseball department and getting new decision makers in there. Coming up with our own philosophy, which is going to be a blend of a lot of different philosophies on building a winning team, one that's going to be successful [not just] next year, but for years and years to come. And how we deploy our assets to make sure that happens.

en Phase one of CoNE is barely underway, phases two, three, four, five, six, seven and eight are still to come and there are 17 years to go on the tax treaty. There will be many, many, more CoNE phase proposals for the Planning Commission to review and approve so Mr. Nelson will have to step aside many, many more times.

en They understand if they want to be successful in life, they've got to be able to handle multi-tasking. I think guys are starting to realize that, and they want to be successful.

en Mike showed that he was a capable scorer last year. He's probably been our most consistent player from day one of training camp. He's one of those guys who is undervalued by people away from our team, but who the players and the people who are close to our team realize how valuable he is. He does all the little things out there that help a line be successful and help a team be successful. He's certainly getting rewarded for it from a production standpoint, which is exciting for him.

en Unfortunately, we finished one game short of where we wanted to be. The seniors did a nice job with the situation they had. They had a new coach come in pretty late in the game. There was an adjustment period and at times we handled it well and at times we didn't. We have a great group of younger guys coming up. Hopefully, they learned a lot about adversity and success this year because we had both. Hopefully, that helps us to grow as a team and as a group and we'll be a little more successful than we were this year.

en I think because they're good players, ... I think everybody in here has seen Quincy Morgan in two and a half years light it up at times. He's had multiple (three) 100-yard games. Andre' Davis, I don't know what his reception-to-touchdown ratio is (one TD every seven catches), but it has to be good. ... When it's all said and done, you need guys doing precisely what they're supposed to do, and those guys did it letter-perfect today.
